Submission Guidelines
I am not currently open to queries. I will update here when I am.
Queries MUST be submitted using the form at Query Manager. Submissions sent any other way will be deleted unread.
My submission form requests:
- Your query letter
- Bio information about the writer/illustrator
- The first 10 pages of your manuscript for MG/YA/NA/Adult.
- Three picture book manuscripts submitted at once for PB. Include a paragraph description of each as part of the query. Do this all as one query submission, not as multiple queries as only one query is permitted at a time through Query Manager.
- A 1 page synopsis. Like you, I loathe writing these, but if I have questions about the full scope of your manuscript, this does help me get a better picture of things.
I will respond to every query I get, but it is difficult for me to give a specific timeframe at this moment as I am new. Feel free to nudge after three months, though I certainly hope to have responded before then. Response to requested manuscripts will take longer. I expect generally 1 to 5 months.
Submission Period
I am open to queries on a rolling basis at the moment, but in the future will switch to only being open on certain days each month. Please check back here for more information when you are ready to query me.
Oops! You Made a Mistake. What Now?
I am human, too! I will not be worried if you mistyped my name or had a typo in your query letter. Don’t sweat the small stuff!
If you have significantly revised your opening pages or PB manuscript, feel free to withdraw and re-query. Withdrawing to re-query does not reflect negatively on you, but it will move you down in the queue.
